The 6 Hour workshop is aimed at the beginner
who wants to find out what the fuss over hand dying is all
about. During class you will learn the basics of color
mixing as you dye a 12 step color wheel. You will dye
another two yards of fabric during “play time”; which will
be spent experimenting with color.
Supply List -
Note: After using these items for
dying, they CANNOT be used for food.
12 small
plastic cups (not measuring cups). Clear is best. The
cups must hold at least ½ cup of liquid.
(1) Set of
Measuring spoons (1/8 teaspoon to 1 Tablespoon)
(2) 1-cup
measuring cups marked in ¼ cup increments.
(1) 2 -cup
measuring cup or equivalent for water and soda ash solution.
(12) 1
-quart Ziploc baggies (extras in case of leakage are good!)
Sharpie-type marker
Large dish
tub or similar sized tub
Paper
towels
DO NOT
bring your own fabric and other items to dye in class
Optional Items to be used during playtime:
2 plastic
shoebox-size tubs with lids OR (2) 1 -gallon size Ziploc
baggies
Plastic
gallon container with top opening big enough for your hand
to fit into
Large
garbage bag
